xbldiamond.jpgA little know perk for Xbox Live Gold subscribers has been the Xbox Live Diamond program. The program provided discounts at various retailers, restaurants, hotels, etc. for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. The program has been moderately useful for me over the past year and a half since I signed up for it. The discounts weren’t spectacular and some of them could be found by Googleing for coupon codes. Well that slight-usefulness is about to disappear.

Beginning in March, the program will begin requiring an annual $6.95 membership fee in order to participate. I’m not sure I’ve saved a total of $6.95 since I became a member. Actually, that’s not true. I’ve used the XBOX coupon code on Papa John’s website many times. Fortunately, I don’t think I’ll need to pay $7 a year just to remember that code. Hopefully they aren’t smart enough to start rotating the codes on a frequent basis.

Anyway, registration is currently closed until the new program begins in March and current members will have free service until the cards expire in 2008.
