The wait will soon be over as Capcom has announced that the Devil May Cry 4 demo will be landing on Xbox LIVE Marketplace on Thursday. The demo will allow you to play as newcomer Nero in a “sampling of sections from the full game.” The demo will feature the Devil Bringer weapon and a boss battle with this ferocious looking baddie. Hit the link for all the details straight from Capcom’s mouth.

It all hearkens back to old-school DMC, which I suppose appeals to the fans. But for newcomers to the series, they aren’t going to be impressed or enthusiastic. The demo showcases only the drudgery that is linear progression and forced combat in predictable situations. For the fans though, it’s all about the combat. Anyone who’s played DMC before will know that you advance in skills and styles and just go to town, and have fun doing it. But the demo shows nothing of this.
What a shame. Capcom could have taken the opportunity to make improvements aside from a little graphics update….
