Rumor: Could Gears of War 2 Be Coming in 2008?

Thanks to Godfrey over on Gamertag Radio, we have been given a sneak peek of the upcoming issue of GamePro magazine. According to the cover, the issue contains a special report on a few Xbox 360 games, including Gears of War 2. No other details are known at this time, other than the game making the cover of the mag which hits newsstands on February 12th. But we here at XOD will be waiting in anticipation for some more information.

The only doubt in my mind? An announcement of Gears of War 2 being released in 2008 should probably make cover story, don’t you think?

Update: Mark Rein has swooped in to calm everyone down regarding Gears of War 2. Over on the Gears of War Forums, he has put a stop to all the speculation by stating: “It is complete nonsense. We have not announced a sequel to Gears of War to Gamepro or anyone else for that matter.”

    Either way I’m pretty sure everyone already knows that they will make a GOW2, but hopefully GamePro’s correct about the ’08 release, now that would make my year for sure!

    Kotaku ran a story with scans of the GoW2 information and it’s all bullshit.

    The cover is baiting potential buyers and inside is basically all speculation.

    I’m just waiting for the GDC (Game Developers Conference)! Hopefully they announce something about Gears 2 there!!!

    I sure hope they make it clear in the mag that it’s strictly rumor. Otherwise Gamepro is going to look pretty stupid.
    The quicker Gears 2 can happen, the better. Why? Because I haven’t had a chance to play through GOW1 yet!! For shame, I know… but I have a full plate of games already! GOW2 sooner means cheaper GOW1 for me!
