Here’s a quick little tidbit from 1UP… Dead Rising 2 is currently in the middle of development, but NOT by Capcom (who created the original, all-too-short zombie slaughter simulator). An “unspecified Western developer” based out of Los Angeles is currently at the helm of this project.
Here’s hoping for a multiplayer mode!

Comment posted February 5, 2008 at 4:50 pm 4I’m talking co-op. The only way that the first Dead Rising could be more fun is if you had the ability to run around the mall with a friend, killing zombies. There doesn’t have to be any sort of competition.

Comment posted February 8, 2008 at 2:21 am 9I’m actually anticipating this, and I’m not a huge Dead Rising fan. In fact, I can’t bring myself to actually like the game much. I don’t hate it, but I can’t break the barrier into fun land. Which is a shame… because I want to and I keep trying.
I’m tired of beating my head against that wall. Hopefully Dead Rising 2 takes the formula, improves on it, and tosses out a game I can finally embrace and like!
…I’m also happy GOW Chains will be ported to PS2. I didn’t want to miss out on more GOW goodness, but there’s no way I’m buying into the PSP.
