ninjagaidenblack.jpgCome Monday, we will have a few more additions to the Xbox Originals library on Xbox LIVE. Gamerscore Blog has announced that for 1200 points each, we will be able to download Ninja Gaiden Black, Sid Meier’s Pirates! & BLACK.

A quick check over on Gamestop.com reveals that it’s actually cheaper to buy these games on Xbox LIVE rather than buying them used! Ninja Gaiden Black is listed for $25, Sid Meier’s Pirates! is $20 and BLACK is $18. Granted, you get no disc or manual and you have no way to resell the game should you so desire. Now if only you had room on your hard drive.

I don’t know why they are putting in Sid Meier’s Pirates!? I mean, did anyone actually play it, and enjoy it. I dunno, maybe it was a hit (though I didn’t hear much about it)! I did however play BLACK, and that game was sweet. One of the first games that I played that had destructible surroundings!

Any chance of KotoR showing up? I hope it does. I never got to play that.

I enjoyed Pirates back when it was on Commodore64. It hasn’t aged all too well, despite “upgrades” (dancing mini-games??? ugh).

I’m not sold on digital rights media, and I’m glad you mentioned the resale value issue. Trade-ins are a huge part of gaming, especially with the high prices for games now. You can also always go to eBay and grab copies of any of these games for much much cheaper than Marketplace. You can pay more for these games online, but if you had bought the disc, you could sell it for half as much again later on.
If downloading games is going to be successful, Microsoft needs to charge LESS.

Speaking of KOTOR, I grabbed that from eBay brand new for $5. Marketplace??? Hell no!
