I’ve been really excited about this game for a long time. The art style is great as are the hand drawn graphics. Four player co-op is going to be a blast. I simply cannot wait for this game.
This week’s XBLA release is Triggerheart Exelica, which is apparently a remake of a classic Japanese arcade game. Never heard of it myself, but I’m sure someone out there has been waiting for this game. From the media release:
“Triggerheart Exelica” on Xbox LIVE Arcade is an upgraded version of the original Japanese arcade game and allows players to take down or trap and toss enemies by controlling humanoid weapons systems known as Triggerhearts. Players will enjoy the smallest and newest model of Triggerhearts, which feature the perfect blend of artificial intelligence and an imposing arsenal. They are the ultimate weapon against the mysterious enemy ships of the Ver’mith! “Triggerheart Exelica” also features five stages of enhanced graphics, BGM sound tracks, three difficulty levels and a “Variable Boss Attack System,” which adjusts the difficulty level to match player’s skills.
Best Buy is selling the HD DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 for $50 plus shipping. Shipping is about $5. Also available for free in-store pickup at most locations. If you purchase this drive by the 28th of February, you qualify for the 5 free movies in addition to the free copy of King Kong in the package. Sure the format is dead, but it’ll cost you $50 for a couple of BluRay movies anyway. So, if you’re interested in getting your HD movie collection started, this is a great way to do it.
Well, we all knew this was coming sooner or later… Microsoft announced on Saturday that all production of the HD DVD attachment for the 360 has been stopped. Microsoft will, however, continue to honor the warranty for the drives that have already been sold. Additionally, the company said that the failure of HD DVD and the decision to stop selling the players will have “no material impact” on its video game business. You can read the full press release here.
For those of you who do own this technological white elephant, just think of it this way… it could be worse. You could have the original Nokia N-Gage.
Amazon is currently selling Viva Pinata Party Animals for $10 with free shipping on orders of $25 or more. Although it may look like a kids game, it’s probably the best party game on the 360 and definitely worth $10. If you’re ordering other games from Amazon or you need to pad your order to hit $25, this is a great game to throw in your shopping cart.
