GameVee.com has recently added support for importing your Halo 3 saved films into GameVee as video files. You’ll need to create an account, which is quick and painless, but once that’s done, the process couldn’t be easier. You’ll need to provide them with your gamertag and name of the saved film in your file share. Through some kind of black magic, they’ll turn your saved film into a bonafide video you can share on the intarwebs. It can take a while depending on the length of the saved film, but you’ll get an email notifying you when the import has been completed.
I’m a big fan so far. I plan on importing all of the saved films of me doing cool things (which is only about a half-dozen). Check it out and be sure to share your imported videos in the comments. And let me know what you think of my Twofer video embedded above.

Embedded above is a new PSA from the Red vs. Blue guys. The video contains many suggestions for things you can say on internet forums to be unique and original. Enjoy!

Previously referred to by it’s code name “O.K. Corral,” the new “Ghost Town” map has been revealed on the Bungie website complete with pretty pictures. This is the first we’ve seen of any of the maps that will be contained in the “Legendary Map Pack.” The map has a very cool jungle look to it, which makes it very different from the other maps I’ve played. Hit the link for more pics and some Q/A with a couple of the map’s designers.

Sorry, I didn’t get this posted yesterday. Bungie have announced that the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre Playlist for Halo 3 is Live and ready for your gaming amusement. The hopper is essentially a modified Ranked Team Doubles playlist and is mostly being used by Bungie to test out their ability to hold tournaments. They will be giving away prizes, but haven’t announced specifics on what will be given away or how to win. Still, it looks like it could be some fun. The hopper will be live from now until Monday morning (Feb. 18) at 2:00 AM PST.
I guess we can no more call it a fluke as Call of Duty 4 has held the top spot on Xbox LIVE for the second week in a row, according to Major Nelson’s weekly Xbox LIVE stats. Once again, Halo 3 has to be satisfied with a silver medal as CoD4 continues to dominate Xbox LIVE.
I must say, many of my friends have been playing CoD4 a lot recently, choosing to play it over Halo 3. If Infinity Ward can provide the long-time support to CoD4 that Bungie has shown to the Halo series, CoD4 could be here for a long, long time.
In the latest weekly update from Bungie, they have announced that they are nearing completion of a Halo 3 auto-update and that it should be handed off to Microsoft certification very soon. By their estimates, the update should be rolled out sometime later this month.
In the weekly update, we have been given a detailed look at how melee works, not only in Halo 3, but in Halo 2 as well. The information is quite interesting, at least for a huge nerd like me, and I had one of those “ah-ha” moments when I learned exactly what causes us to perceive that the current melee system is broken. The solution they have decided on is simple: If you and your opponent have done sufficient damage to each other and you both melee at about the same time, you’ll both die. After reading and understanding the challenges they face in this area, this solution makes perfect sense. If you care at all about Halo 3, give the article a read.
Also in the update is word of a forthcoming Valentine’s playlist, dubbed the Valentine’s Day Massacre Hopper. This hopper will be a “Ranked, lean, Team Slayer-focused version (it will have a Team BRs variant, as well) of Team Doubles.”
Bungie has announced today that they have added a Big Team Battle playlist to the ranked matchmaking in Halo 3. You can now play some sweet 8-on-8 action in a handful of different maps and game types. Check out the official announcement for all the deets.
Over on Bungie.net, Bungie’s own Brian Jarrard (Ske7ch) has posted some tips and tricks for using Halo 3’s Forge with the new Foundry map. He details his thought processes throughout the creation of each of his custom maps and really shows the potential that lies within Bungie’s Forge tool. He gives some great insight if you plan on tinkering around in Forge yourself.
Head over to Bungie.net to read all about it. Don’t forget to check out the maps for yourself by downloading them from his fileshare.
