The lawsuit filed by the three Texans is the reason that we haven’t had any updates from Microsoft over the Xbox Live issues according to Major Nelson’s latest podcast. This is definitely disappointing because we are all so desperate to play on Live without lag issues and other problems. Could that really be the case or is Microsoft just trying to find a scapegoat because they aren’t putting a big enough priority on resolving the problem?
If there is a bright to all of these issues, it’s that I’m blaming all of the times I lose on Halo 3 to Live issues…
Today, Major Nelson announced the ability to send another person Microsoft Points as a gift. His post contains a little widget that will allow you to send MS Points to any person, given you know their Windows LIVE ID. Seems like a good gift idea if you know someone who owns a Zune or has an addiction to Xbox Live Arcade games. (I fall into the latter, if you feel inclined to send me some Points.) The good Major has asked the Microsoft Points team to add the ability to send points based on Gamertag, so that seems to be a feature to look forward to. I am hopeful that this is a step towards being able to give Xbox Live Arcade games as gifts, which I think would be a pretty sweet feature. Anway, head on over to Major Nelson’s post if you want to try this thing out. I will gladly be your test subject. (Note: The widget did not work for me in Firefox, but I’ve changed the link below to point to the Microsoft Points website.)
